Combine and soak together:
1 cup oats
1 cup sour milk
(if using quick oats, soak for 10-15 minutes- regular oats, soak overnight)
Then add:
1 egg
1/2 cup oil
Combine together:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white flour
1/2 cup wheat flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp baking powder
Add to wet ingredients, stirring until just mixed.
Bake at 400 for approximately 12 minutes
Makes one dozen muffins.

Instant Oatmeal
I learned this from Kraayevelds, many years ago.
Base:
2 cups quick oats, blended until fine
2 cups quick oats, unblended
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 tsp salt
To flavor, add on set of the following ingredients:
Apple Cinnamon
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup chopped dried apples
2 tsp cinnamon
Brown Sugar Raisin
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup raisins
Cinnamon Spice
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
Peaches n Cream
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup dry milk
1 cup chopped dried peaches
To serve, combine 1/3 cup mix and 1/2 cup boiling water. Stir and let sit for about a minute before eating.
